Dear Manasota Key Association Members,

       You should have recently received a survey from Sarasota County concerning beach renourishment on Manasota Key.   The results of this survey will help Sarasota County Commissioners determine if a project to renourish the beach on Manasota Key should be pursued.

        We appreciate that the County Commission and staff are taking this seriously and are reaching out for input from residents.  In the past residents have been divided on the need to carry out renourishment.  County Commissioners have made it clear they will only get behind a project if there is strong support from the community.  

        Charlotte County is proceeding to develop plans to renourish their beaches on Manasota Key. There may be opportunities for Sarasota County to work jointly with Charlotte County.   Since there have been several articles recently on this subject we have included articles and links for your convenience in the DOCUMENTS section of this site.
